A love song to the Indian wedding aesthetic

2019  marked the start of a personal project of ours, which was to begin looking inwards at the beauty and value of our island heritage to present an alternative view of the local wedding culture and how we can forge and take ownership of a new Singaporean aesthetic.

This collaborative styled shoot featured a four-sided Mandap, which was covered with a canopy, and fronted by a riot of colour. The rich orange and yellow of the marigold garlands led the way in terms of how the overall palette was going to be, with bright pinks and gem green making up the other spectrum for contrast and also for this explosion of vibrancy and life.
